The K.J. Smith Iron Handicap was held on the 26th of December at the Warrnambool surf club, 10 members competed.  The winner was Stacey Hocking, Ned Aulsebrook 2nd and Stephanie Pontonio 3rd.

Anglesea Surf Life Saving Carnival was held on the 6th of January 2008, 16 members competed in windy and very choppy seas.  The club had 3 members who competed for the first time in the under 15 section, Ned Aulsebrook, Stacey Hocking and Sienna Harris.

The standard was very high; Stephen Kerr won the open board final while John Hart won the under 15 boys board final.

The training that the members have done over the last few months really pay off with a lot of the U15 and U17 boys and girls making the finals, with Stephanie Pontonio U17 also making the final of the women’s open board finishing 9th, Philip and Stephen Kerr made the open ski final with Philip finishing 5th and Stephen 6th.

Three of our young members are competing at Ocean Grove in the Southern States Development Challenge Team, Tarsha Umbers, Mikaela Gleeson and John Hart.

The next carnival is on the Saturday 19th of January at Torquay surf life saving club.
