Victorian SLS Championships . 15th -16th March Jan Juc Print
 A team of 25 competitors went down to Jan Juc to contest the State Titles over the weekend (15th and 16th of March).  The conditions were tough with competitors taking on 4 to 5 foot surf on Saturday and then extreme heat on Sunday with cleaner and slightly smaller surf (2 to 3 foot).  All competitors put in a fantastic effort with everyone having a go in the challenging surf, a couple of competitors even managed to  score a ride on the back of a jet ski back to shore.    John Hart won his first medal (silver) in under 15 men’s board after leading the field all the way by at least 3 lengths once he got out through the surf.  
Stephanie Pontonio managed a bronze medal in the under 17 female 2km beach run (and 3rd female overall).  Stephanie originally won the first race, however competitors and officials soon realised they had set the course to short and the race had to be run again.  
Steve Kerr also won bronze in the open men’s board race.

Congratulations  Rebel who was awarded the Graham Long Memorial trophy which is a state wide award given to the Volunteer of the Year.
