January 2010 Competition update Print

Congratulations  Chloe Jones on her achievementsat the Victorian Lifesaving Pool Championships. Chloe travels to Canberra to the AIS for the National Lifesaving Pool Championships this week, commencing Thursday 21st January. We wish Chloe all the best in her competition.

  • Welcome to new timers at senior carnivals, Paddy O'Brien, Jackson Fairy, Abbey

  • Members have competed in both the Anglesea and Ocean Grove carnivals this year with some very pleasing results. Our Senior Boat crew came away from Anglesea with a 3rd, while Stephen and Phil Kerr took out the double ski and Steven also had a win the Open Board. John Hart 3rd in Under 17 Board, Stephen and John teamed with Ned Aulsebrook to finish 3rd in the Open Men's Board Rely, then John and Ned teamed with Jacob McCorkell to take 2nd place in the Under 17 Board Rely. Congratulations to our girls, Veronica Hart, Abbey Healey and Alyish McCorkell who finished 3rd in the Under 15 Board Rely. We also had a team in the Under 19 Board Rely with Stephanie Pontonio, Freya Parrotte and Chloe Jones. It was great to see ski teams in both the Under 17 and Under 19 with Jackson Fairy, joining John and Ned and Liam Greene joining Taylor O'Keeffe and John Hart respectively.
  • Stephen Kerr and Philip Kerr, board and ski coaches, have taken John Hart and Ned Aulsebrook, to Sydney for the Australia Day weekend carnivals at Manly and Freshwater. This will be a fantastic experience for both these young competitors and a great lead up to the Aussies. Both boys have been training very hard and have had some pleasing results at local carnivals
