Creating strong, confident, community aware and environmentally aware young beach lovers
Not only is nippers a fun way for your child to enjoy the beach in a safe environment, it also offers children an educational pathway through the delivery of the SLSA Junior Development Program. This program is designed to ensure children have fun at the beach while participating in lessons that will progress them to becoming a fully rounded participant in both lifesaving and life.

Sat/Sun/Mon 7th, 8th and 9th of March – VICTORIAN JUNIOR STATE TITLES
Held in Warrnambool!
As per SLSA policy all members when undertaking any water based club activity must be wearing a hi-viz vest or rashie.
Parents should be advised that the fluorescent colours fade with prolonged use in water and light. If this is the case, it will need to be replaced. At carnivals and especially at the Victorian Nipper Championships, competitors will be removed from the competition if their rash vest is faded. When washing the rashies, please ensure that you do not leave them to dry in the sun. This will cause them to fade.
Club Hi-Viz rashies can be purchased at any Nippers session or through our online store.

The Nipper handbook will be available from the below link and will give you more detailed and essential information about the program. However we are still in the throws of updating it. An updated information sheet will be provided at the preliminary Swim days and the handbook should be available from then.
The cost of the Nipper’s program is $150 which is a family membership and includes the Nipper session for one child. Additional children partaking in the Nipper sessions will be charged $55 for the Nipper program. We ask that at least one parent “signs up” with any nipper membership. This allows us to record WWCC and to keep their contact details etc online.
Details about the Junior Competition Squad can be found on the Competition Page. and the presentation can be read in detail in TeamApp
All nippers are encouraged to compete in inter-club competitions
We present a version of the Life Saving Victoria Nipper program, to achieve the age award your nipper needs to attend 70% of the course and complete the below age specific nipper booklets. Your Age manager will cover the content of these booklets over the course of the season.
You will notice no booklet for u14 nippers, as they will complete the Surf Rescue Certificate, which enables them to participate on beach patrols!
To make sure that Nipper programs can run successfully it is important that parents put their hands up and offer assistance. Age Managers courses are available which educate parents and volunteers on how to instruct Nipper activities on the beach and in the water, but there are a lot of activities around the club that require no formal training.
